What I love about this cake is it's absolutely over-the-top with chocolate and yet it's pretty easy to make, even for a novice baker. I hope this cake inspires you to create your own chocolate wasted cake. I think it makes it look even more decadent and mouthwatering. Think Jackson Pollock. I made sure there was plenty of melted chocolate dripping down the sides of the cake. I crisscrossed the melted chocolate on top and then poured more around the edges of the cake. Last, I drizzled some melted chocolate all over the cake. With so many candy choices of out there, I'm sure I can make this cake dozens of times and have a different batch of candies to top the cake every time. For this cake, I used Hershey Kisses, Hershey bars, Kit Kat bars, Twix bars and Whoppers. Next, I topped the cake with an assortment of chocolate candies. I placed the cake on a revolving cake stand and I had a large shallow bowl underneath it to catch any chocolate chips that may fall. The trick to doing this is to take a handful of chocolate chips and gently press them onto the cake. Then, I completely covered the sides of the cake with Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips. Then, I filled and frosted the cake with rich chocolate buttercream. Either one would've worked well with the chocolate but since my brother also loves coffee, I decided to go with the Kahlua. I wanted to use chocolate liqueur like Godiva dark chocolate or white chocolate, but all I had on hand was Kahlua, which is a coffee-flavored liqueur and Disaronno, which is an almond-flavored liqueur. Then, I drizzled each cake layer with some Kahlua. To create this chocolate beauty, I baked two layers of delicious chocolate cake.

Just looking at this cake, I think you'll agree that it definitely deserves its name. Being a chocoholic myself, I had no trouble coming up with ways to fill this cake with layer upon layer of chocolatey goodness.

Once the survey was filled out, the students were ushered onto the stage where they were encouraged to get “chocolate wasted” with cake, brownies, cupcakes, donuts, chocolate milk, and so much more.Ever since my brother started using the phrase "I wanna get chocolate wasted" from the movie Grown Ups I've been wanting to make this cake for his birthday. While waiting, students were asked to fill out a “completion survey” showing that they had gone to the tables and received good information. “If someone’s been drinking and are too drunk to drive, they’re too drunk to have sex with someone,” said one RESPECT intern.įinally, after filling up their heads with life-saving knowledge and their cards with punches, students were ready for the chocolate party on stage. The student interns also explained safety measures that can be taken such as never leaving your drink unattended at a party, watching out for your friends, and much more At this table, student interns separated the students into small groups and discussed that RESPECT is a group of students helping others to understand the issues of sexual assault, relationship violence and its risk reduction and prevention. Students then made their way to the RESPECT table.

A volunteer student was asked to roll an inflatable dice, and after the dice were rolled, the conduct officer present read aloud the corresponding conduct law that matched the dice roll. The Student Standards and Conduct Office offered a fun, interactive booth.

NWLB volunteers handed out information flyers, answered questions and discussed how the students can get involved. The first table visited was the No Woman Left Behind table where two volunteers explained that the program was created to educate the community about sexual assault and reduce it on campus. These three tables included No Woman Left Behind (NWLB), the Student Standards and Conduct Office and Rape Education by Peers Encouraging Conscious Thought (RESPECT). After checking in, students were encouraged to visit three information tables about varying issues on campus to receive a punch in their punch card. Upon arrival at the Chi Omega Greek Theatre, students were checked in at the welcome booth and given a punch card that served as a key to enter the “chocolate party” on the stage. This year’s Chocolate Wasted event educated students on alcohol safety while showing them that they don’t have to get the wrong kind of wasted. Getting “Chocolate Wasted” is so much more fun!
